From Chengdu, to Lijiang and on to Zhongdian, our 14 Days Trekking from Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge gives you a close up look at some of China’s most beautiful landscapes that are definitely off the beaten path. Average hiking per day is kept to just 5-7 hours making this trek possible for almost anyone interested in walking through the history and culture of an ancient land.

The Mysterious Queendom

Some of the more interesting sites we will visit include Lugu Lake, a crystal clear lake located in northwest part of Yunnan province. It is home to the matriarchal Mosuo people which is why many locals call it the Mysterious Queendom.

Yunnan’s Stone Town

Then, we visit The Stone town, just north of Lijiang, but still in the Yunnan province. The town was built in the late 13^th century and it is home to more than 100 families who live atop the giant rock. The history of the town is built around its unique geographic location. With three steep sides, one which acts as a lookout and overlooks the Golden Sand River and the others which offer breathtaking views of the region below and access to the village’s farms below.

Tiger Leaping Gorge

Another exciting portion of our 14 Days Trekking from Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge is the visit to Tiger Leaping Gorge itself. The Gorge is strategically located between the Yulong Snow Mountain and the Haba Mountains and is one of the most attractive trekking areas in Southwest China.
