Trip Overview
Relive the ancient ways of Tibetan herdsmen with our 10 Days Ancient Pilgrimage Trekking Tour Trek from Ganden to Samye with C.A.T. Considered by many to be one of the best hikes in the world, the Tibetan trekking route from Ganden to Samye, is an experience rich in culture, history and adventure. Hikers will experience Tibetan Buddhism and religious culture, blue holy lakes, high snowy passes and mountains, lush alpine meadows, sporadic herders’ camps, and tranquil Tibetan villages. We will also visit many important sacred sites as well as the Samye Monastery.
The landscape of Tibet is like nothing else in the world and it includes secluded valleys used mainly as a pilgrimage route by high-altitude nomads and their yaks. Beautiful and scenic, this trek is not for the timid as it can become quite challenging for some, especially since the altitude rises and falls quickly from 4180m (13,940 feet) at Ganden Monastery, passing Shogu-La Pass at 5250m (17,224ft) and on toward the Samye Monastery at 3540m (11,600ft).
If you are experienced in high altitude hiking and camping, our 10 Days Ancient Pilgrimage Trekking Tour Trek from Ganden to Samye with C.A.T was made for you. We do recommend that hikers spend at least one night at the Ganden Monastery to acclimatize before embarking on the trek.
