Our exclusive 10 Days Off the Beaten Path China Classic Tour visits four of China’s most famous cities and gives tourists the opportunity to immerse themselves in each one without feeling rushed. You will learn about China’s natural and traditional cultures as well as the modernization and economic development that has prepared China for future growth and sustainability. From Beijing, to Guilin, and Shanghai to Wuzhen, experience China with us and create lasting memories.
DAY 1 Arrival Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, you will meet your guide and transfer to your hotel for a relaxing evening dining, meeting locals and recovering from jet lag.
DAY 2 Beijing Highlights
Day 2 we visit the Temple of Heaven, where we can learn Chinese Kung Fu and Taichi in the morning. Then, we are off to Tian’anmen Square, the Forbidden City, also called Gu Gong and the Summer Palace.
DAY 3 Beijing – Watertown at Simatai – Great Wall Hiking
Day 3 begins with a rickshaw tour to Hutong to experience the life of common people in Beijing. Then we visit the Lotus Market, and see old hutong, modern bars, a Beijing drum show and experience Chinese traditional art.
DAY 4 Water Town + Great Wall hiking – Xi’an
A relaxing day in Gubei Water town experiencing the traditional Chinese culture before we hike the Jinshanling portion of the Great Wall. In the evening, we enjoy a Chinese Dumpling Dinner with a Tang Dynasty dancing show.
DAY 5 Xi’an – Guilin
Day 5 includes a visit to the Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and the Gao family courtyard for a Chinese traditional shadow show. We will have plenty of time to explore and enjoy these two important Chinese cultural sites.
DAY 6 Guilin – Yangshuo
Day 6 begins with a 4-5 Li River Cruise which will take us through small villages and breathtaking landscapes which include a paddy field and orchards that surround the famous mountains. Then we board narrow bamboo rafts for a 1-1.5-hour rafting tour of the Yulong river and a visit to a local fishing village to see authentic cormorant fishing techniques.
DAY 7 Yangshuo – Guilin – Shanghai
Today, we visit Elephant Trunk Hill and the Reed Flute Cave and a tour of the Reed Flute Cave Scenic Area.
DAY 8 Shanghai – Wuzhen
Day 8 of the tour includes a visit to Bund, one of the most famous gardens in China, the Yu Garden, the highest TV(468m) and radio tower in Asia, the Oriental Pearl Tower and one of the area’s best entertainment complexes, Xintiandi Bar street which includes many Western-style bars, modern restaurants and upscale shops.
DAY 9 Wuzhen
On Day 9, we will experience wine making at a local winery as well as a first-hand look at a local printing workshop before having a traditional Chinese lunch and a visit to an exhibition of antique beds from the Ming & Qing Dynasties.
DAY 10 Wuzhen – Shanghai
Transfer to the Shanghai airport for the return flight. End of tour.
